Kim began her fitness career when she enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1993. While in the Navy Kim assisted in the Navy Seals led aircrew, exercise and swim program at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA and she helped establish and lead a physical training program at a brand new Command at Fort Gordon, Georgia. In January of 1999, when her six-year contract with the Navy was over she decided that her heart was not with her primary job as an Arabic Linguist, but with her part-time position as a fitness coordinator. She decided to make fitness and wellness a full-time career. Kim started working as a personal trainer in health clubs and immediately found that she was drawn to those clients that had health issues and that were recovering from injuries. She went on to become a STOTT PILATES certified instructor in 2001 and received a Master's degree in Exercise Science in 2008.
Kim has worked in various health clubs and fitness studios as a Personal Trainer, Spinning instructor, Pilates instructor and she worked as an Exercise Physiologist at Elliot Hospital's Cardiac Rehab Center. Currently, Kim owns and manages KC Pilates & Fitness where she teaches clients one-on-one and in small group settings. She is also a continuing education provider for FEN and ACSM, and teaches the Senior Exercise classes for the town of Chester.
Kim has two boys (18 & 14), a husband, and two dogs that keep her pretty busy, but she never forgets to prioritize her own health so that she can better take care of those that depend on her. For exercise, Kim enjoys Hiking, trail running, kayaking, obstacle course races, biking, cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, strength training, Pilates and Yoga. Kim is always willing to try something new!
